The Massaponax Interceptor is massive sewer trunk line replacement for Spotsylvania County. Our portion of the
project consisted of over 5 miles of 36" pipe, 118 manholes and all associate laterals and connections. The
project also included a 347 foot 60" jack and bore operation under I-95, as well as two shorter bores. One
under Route 1 and the other under Route 639. The Phase 2B portion was actually considered an emergency job by the
county and was completed well ahead of schedule.
Regional Fire Training Academy - 2006-2007 Picture #

The Regional Fire Training Academy is a joint training facility for the local fire departments of the
City of Fredericksburg, King George and Spotsylvania Counties. This was a complete site package including
all the concrete, electrical, and paving as well as clearing, earthwork and utilities. One of the unique
features of the job involved constructing a burn building that the fire fighters could set on fire and
practice entering as part of their training.
Stafford Hospital - 2006-2007 Picture #

This was a 38 acre site project for Medicorp Health System's new hospital in Stafford. The job involved moving over
400,000 cubic yards of earth and fine grading for the buildings and roads. There was also over 10,000 feet
of storm line, 4,000 feet of sanitary sewer and 5,000 feet of water line that needed to be installed.
The hospital itself is scheduled to be open in 2009.
Claiborne Run - 2006-2007 Picture #

Claiborne Run was a sanitary trunk replacement job for Stafford County. The project consisted of installing
2,500 linear feet of 42" ductile iron pipe, 600 linear feet of 48" ductile iron pipe and thirteen sanitary
manholes. The project ran parallel and occasionally across Claiborne Run, a creek in southern Stafford.
The major challenge in this project was keeping the water level low enough in order to allow for installation
of the pipe.
Fredericksburg City Dock - 2006 Picture #

This project consists of replacing approximately 2,000 linear feet of existing sewer line with 18” PVC and
included 6 manholes up to 18 feet deep. Located in the flood plane, parallel to the Rappahannock River in
Fredericksburg, and aligned 10 feet from the existing sewer line, required a solid understanding of
groundwater and by-pass pumping needs. The project went well enough that the City of Fredericksburg extended
the contract to include an additional 320 linear feet of pipe. This section replaced a 24 inch sewer line.
Also included were 4-inch sewer lateral tie-ins.
Quantico National Cemetary - 2006 Picture #

The National Cemetery located in Quantico required an extensive water system upgrade which included both
potable and irrigation lines to be installed. The contract included over 5,200 linear feet of 12 inch
and 11,000 of 6 inch waterlines. The cemetery itself was used on a daily basis, averaging 5 – 6 funerals
a day and required constant co-ordination as to not disturb or interfere with these occasions. The
contract was completed on time without any disturbance to the processions.
King George Route 3 Water & Sewer Improvements - 2005-2006 Picture #

Route 3 Water & Sewer improvements is a major infrastructure upgrade for King George County. The job
consists of 18,000 linear feet of ten inch sanitary force main and 9,500 linear feet of eight and ten inch
water main. There is also 3,300 linear feet of directional drilling utilizing eight to twenty inch HDPE.
The project runs along Route 3 all the way through downtown King George.
England Run - 2005-2006 Picture #

England run was a 9,000 linear feet gravity sewer project for Stafford County. The job was located
in the Celebrate Virginia development owned by The Silver Companies. The pipe size ranged from eight
inches to eighteen inches . The project included 40 plus sanitary structures, many of which were over
twenty feet deep. We also had to blast and rip 8,000 cubic yards of rock. England Run was completed
three months ahead of schedule.

Cobblestone Square is a 368 unit condominium development owned by K. Hovnanian. The project is located
in downtown Fredericksburg. We moved over 70,000 cubic yards of earth in a cut to fill operation and
imported 30,000 cubic yards of earth to finish the site. There was also 10,000 feet of sanitary, water, and storm
pipe to be installed.
NPS Prince William Forest Park Waterline - 2004-2006 Picture #

A fourteen mile waterline project in Prince William Forest Park. The project was designed to bring water from
a new water tower off of Route 234 into the park to service various cabin camps and for general fire protection.
We installed over 63,000 feet of twelve inch, eight inch and six inch ductile iron water main. We also
installed nearly two miles of copper services including water fountains, meter vaults and yard hydrants.
Centerport Parkway Phase II Waterline - 2004-2005

Centerport Parkway is the main road constructed by Branch Highways for the Stafford Airport that will connect
the airport with Route 1 and I-95. Our portion was to install 13,000 feet of eighteen inch
ductile iron water main from one end of the road to the other.
Crescent Valley / Lansberry Park - 2004-2005 Picture #

Crescent Valley and Lansberry Park are adjacent subdivisons. This project for Caruso Homes
is located in Stafford and consisted of a total of 68 lots including roads and utilities. We moved roughly
70,000 cubic yards of earth and installed over 3,000 linear feet of various sized water, sewer, and storm pipe.
MWH Road Improvements - 2004-2005 Picture #

MWH Road Improvements was a thirty five acre site improvement for Medicorp on the Mary
Washington Hospital campus. The job involved moving over 150,000 cubic yards of earth and building
4,500 linear feet of road, including asphalt paving, curb & gutter, and sidewalks.
MWH Parking Lot L - 2003-2004 Picture #

A two hundred fifty space parking lot for the Mary Washington Hospital. This job consisted of
clearing, earth moving, storm sewer, sanitary sewer and paving. W.C. Spratt moved roughly
100,000 cubic yards of earth in a cut to fill operation. We then paved 8,500 square yards of
asphalt.
Dahlgren Force Main - 2003-2004 Picture #

An effluent force main and potable water main in Dahlgren, Virginia. We installed
7,500 linear feet of force main and 5,000 linear feet of water main. W.C. Spratt used a directional drill
to install a 4,500 feet portion of the force main under Potomac Avenue. 2,500 feet of the force main had
to be installed at night.
Lake of the Woods Lakeview Parkway 12" Water Main - 2002-2003 Picture #

PVC Transmission main for Lake of the Woods private community. Installation of 14,500
linear feet of 12" C-900 water line, 325 linear feet of 18" steel casing pipe. This included
numerous tie ins to the existing line, fire hydrants, gate valves, and air release valves.
W.C. Spratt also removed 300 linear feet of solid rock from pipeline trenches.
Quantico Tank Trails - 2002 Picture #

Road rehabilitation of over two miles of existing tank trails on the Quantico
Marine Corp Base. W.C. Spratt cleared 14 acres of forest, moved over 41,000 cubic yards
of earth and installed almost 30,000 tons of stone. We also replaced 1,500 linear feet of pipe
culvert, some as large as 72" diameter. We met the sixth month completion schedule and
due to live fire exercises were only allowed to work on weekends.
Costco - 2002 Picture #

Site construction for the Costco located in Spotsylvania Shopping Mall, Virginia. W.C. Spratt
demolished 29,300 square yards of pavement. We rough graded, and fine graded over 7 acres
of asphalt and almost 3 acres for the building pad. This job was very time sensitive and had
only 6 months from the time ground was broken to the scheduled opening date of the Costco.
Quantico Athletic Fields - 2000-2001 Picture #

Two baseball fields and two softball fields for the Quantico High School and the
Quantico Elementary School. We moved over 60,000 cubic yards in a cut to fill operation. We
installed over 3 acres of sod along with the skinned infields. W.C. Spratt also handled all of the
utilities and stormwater installation.
Motts Run Water Contract III - 2000-2001 Picture #

Water transmission main along Harrison and Cherry Roads in Spotsylvania County, Virginia.
W.C. Spratt installed over 11,000 feet of 24 Inch water main including two 42 inch horizontal
bores, 24 inch pressure reducing valves and pressure sustaining valves, fire hydrants and
appurtenances, easement restoration, including pavement, of over 3,000 linear feet of roadway.
Project required installation of the first 3,300 feet of main beneath an existing roadway and 100
feet of horizontal bore in less than six weeks.
Quantico Landfill Closure - 1999-2002 Picture #

Quantico Landfill Closure was a 15 acre project located in the Quantico Marine
Base, Virginia. The project included erosion control, rough grading and importing over 14,000
tons of sand. W.C. Spratt also installed over 51,000 square yards of geo-membrane liner,
installed two stormwater detention ponds and system.

Armor vehicle-washing facility on a 32-acre site at Fort A. P. Hill, Bowling Green, Virginia.
Project included on-site wastewater treatment facility, vehicle bath washing and detailing stations,
control building, 12 acres of HDPE lined ponds, resin modified pavement and demolition of existing
wash stations.

Utility work at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. We installed 35,000 feet of
pipe including gravity and pressure sanitary sewer lines, a sanitary pump station, various water
lines comprised of valves, meter vaults, a booster pump station and all appurtenances. We also
relocated an existing 20-inch raw (concrete pressure pipe) water main.
Mary Washington Hospital 1989-91, 1993 - 2003 Picture #

A 75 acre land development and construction project in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Our work
consisted of the demolition, clearing and excavation of over 400,000 cubic yards of earth in a cut
to fill scenario. Utility work included storm, sanitary, waterpiping, structures and all appurtenances.
Site work consisted of 25,000 linear feet of curb, gutter and sidewalk, 300 feet of a 14 foot tall
retaining wall and 40,000 square yards of both stone and asphalt paving.
W.C. Spratt has been involved in the majority of expansion projects since we helped build
the Mary Washington Hospital in 1992. Some of these include the Multi-Service Center, The
Emergency Department Expansion, The Hospital Parking Deck, and the Bed Towers Addition.
